Occupational Health

Enerflex is committed to the health and wellness of its employees, and considers it critical to the Company‘s success. Our occupational health team provides support and case management of work-related injuries and illnesses, addresses non-work-related medical conditions, and conducts proactive wellness initiatives.

The occupational health and wellness program includes:

    • Pre-placement medical assessments for employees in safety-sensitive and physically demanding roles;
    • Workplace studies are conducted to identify and manage noise, chemical and air quality hazards that may exist;
    • A disability management program, ensuring that employees who are injured or become ill receive the care, dignity, and respect they deserve;
    • A modified work program, allowing employees to return to work in a manner conducive to their progressive recovery until they are fit for full, unrestricted duties;
    • A confidential, professional employee and family assistance program, provided to employees and their dependents for a broad range of personal and family problems; and
    • Enerflex's occupational health nurses participate in:
      • Health and wellness initiatives;
      • Workers Compensation case management of occupational injuries;
      • Short-term disability case management of non-occupational injuries;
      • Respiratory health surveillance.

Health and wellness, including a healthy lifestyle, are promoted through a variety of activities and initiatives, including regular communications and information sessions. Enerflex is committed to providing a safe work environment for all employees and expects employees to perform their duties safely and free from impairment when they report to work.

Enerflex has a comprehensive and responsible Drug and Alcohol Policy. It requires drug and alcohol testing after all near-misses, incidents that cause or have the potential to cause injury or harm to the environment, or that provide reasonable cause. Employees are not allowed to return to work until they produce a negative test. This policy also provides assessment and treatment for employees with substance abuse problems and the opportunity to continue as productive employees.
