Inspection and Incident Reporting
Critical tools to protect our people and the Company and help drive continuous improvements in safety performance are operational inspections and systematic, analytical reporting of incidents.
Enerflex performs continuous inspections to detect substandard conditions, including anything with the potential to cause harm to a person, property or the environment. Inspections help to direct action to ensure everyone’s safety, including visitors and subcontractors, as well as Enerflex employees.
Employees are required to conduct daily inspections of their work area and/or small tools before commencing work, to document hazards in the Enerflex Aware Card, and report to the relevant manager or supervisor. Every month Enerflex’s manufacturing facilities, equipment, machinery and field operations are formally inspected by a team consisting of management, supervisors, maintenance, office support and safety committee members, and the results are documented and reviewed.
Enerflex’s integrated loss management system identifies potential losses and analyzes causes and effects with a view to identifying corrective measures. Supporting this process is detailed data collection and statistical analysis on types of incidents, root causes, frequencies, severities and consequences to drive corrective actions that produce the greatest reduction in loss frequency. Incidents are rigorously investigated, with the results reported to management. The process includes a mechanism to take corrective action.
Enerflex’s Executive Management Team meets monthly to review all recordable injuries, leading and lagging indicators and discuss continual improvement of the HSE program.
