Workplace Safety Practices

At Enerflex we believe that all work activities, irrespective of complexity, size or duration can be performed safely, effectively and efficiently.  To meet this objective, Enerflex ensures that adequate controls are in place prior to beginning a task which will either eliminate or control and minimize potential hazards, and prevent incidents involving people, equipment, material or the environment.

  • Employees are required to attend safety orientation prior to commencing work.  Safety training is a condition of employment.  Depending on the position, certain employees require more intensive training.
  • Safe work practices are written and reviewed on a regular basis.  When deemed necessary to write safe work practices, our corporate HSE department works with management and the employees impacted by the task to perform a comprehensive risk assessment.
  • Personal protective equipment is provided and required for employees.  All employees are required to wear protective equipment following the hazard assessment process and industry practices.  The greater the risk, the more specialized personal protective equipment Enerflex requires.
  • Facility and equipment inspections ensure that employees are kept safe.  Inspections are conducted regularly at all of our facilities to ensure that they are in compliance with Company standards.  Deficiencies are recorded and follow-up inspections ensure that problems are rectified.
  • Safety meetings are held regularly at all of our locations, including worksites.  Safety meetings ensure that HSE policies and procedures are addressed regularly with all employees and new initiatives are communicated in a timely fashion.
  • Enerflex employees have the right to refuse unsafe work.  If an employee deems that a task is unsafe, it is their responsibility to inform their supervisor of the issue.  Employees are actively encouraged to improve workplace safety and no employee will be disciplined for refusing unsafe work.
