Role and Responsibilities
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting and working with the Corporate Controller, CFO and Divisional Controllers, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide primary support for the Fund’s corporate financial and compliance reporting as a senior member of the corporate accounting and reporting function.
Duties must be performed consistent with company mission and values and adherence to company policies and procedures.
•Taking a lead role in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management report;
•Assisting in the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual financial statements;
•Liaising with external and internal auditors;
•Preparing/reviewing account reconciliations and analysis;
•Assisting in the implementation of new accounting standards;
•Assisting in the design of an efficient and effective reporting process;
•Playing a key role in the development and ongoing preparation of a management report;
•Administering and performing certain controls over the financial reporting processes;
•Preparing and/or reviewing the MD&A;
•Assisting as required in any regulatory filings;
•Coaching and mentoring Financial Analyst and Corporate accountants; and
•Special projects and other duties as assigned.
•This position will evolve over time and duties may change or be modified
Candidate Profile
•Accounting Designation: CA, CMA or CGA;
•5-10 years of relevent experience;
•Exposure to international organizations and International Financial Reporting standards are strong assets;
•Highly analytical and insightful, skilled in directing financial analysis and confident in recommending actions to capture opportunities and solve problems;
•Strong business acumen and sensibility;
•Strong knowledge of current accounting, and regulatory requirements for a public company trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange;
•Strong organizational skills; and
•Communication skills are fundamental (both written and verbal)--the role will have significant interaction with senior company executives and Business Unit leaders;
