Manager, Estimating - Syntech - Calgary

Job Purpose:  To manage the Estimating Department and assist the Electrical Estimators with completion of bid proposals.
Duties must be performed consistent with company mission and values and adherence to company policies and procedures.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Handle customer calls and respond to inquiries for the department
• Perform electrical material and labour take-offs from drawing packages and written Scopes of Work
• Review Bid letters and  Material & Summary sheets prior to closing deadlines
• Maintain consistencies throughout the Estimating Department
• Complete calculations for indirect and job expenses based on location of project as well as project size and timing
• Complete “Form of Tender” documents
• Review contract documents and specifications
• Assist other Enerflex departments with budgeting costs and other proposals
• Maintain and update Logistics Estimating software on a timely basis
• Update price link to Logistics monthly
• Establish and maintain working relationships with internal/external customers

 Candidate Profile

• Journeyman Electrical Certificate
• 5 to 10 years of field management experience
• Instrumentation field experience would be an asset
• Strong background in new construction and maintenance
• Working knowledge of both large and small projects
• Strong leadership skills
• Self-motivated and able to work in a deadline driven environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Good organization and time management skills
