Recently, Enerflex Production Services had a customer who was completing a major overhaul on a compressor package. Normally, they would be faced with losing up to 3.6 MMSCF/D of gas for a period of up to 14 days while the overhaul was being completed. They also ran the risk of the time to completion being extended, should there be any unforeseen problems. If they shortened the downtime, by trying to run 24 hour shifts, there could be safety and quality risks inherent in doing this. Instead, they decided to rent a trailer-mounted reciprocating compressor from Production Services to maintain production during this time period, thus ensuring that the overhaul was completed as safely and efficiently as possible. This unit was on the customer’s site for 14 days.
